How to Cancel YouTube Premium
YouTube Premium (including YouTube Music) auto-renews monthly. Cancellation is straightforward — you keep access until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
✓ Important: where did you subscribe?
- → Subscribed on YouTube.com → cancel via YouTube or Google account settings
- → Subscribed via Apple App Store (iOS) → cancel via iPhone Settings → Subscriptions
- → Subscribed via Google Play (Android) → cancel via Play Store → Subscriptions
- → The method must match where you originally subscribed
Method 1: Cancel on YouTube.com (desktop)

Go to youtube.com/premium
Sign in with the Google account that has the YouTube Premium subscription.

Click "Manage membership"
On the Premium page, find and click "Manage membership" to open your subscription settings.

Click "Deactivate membership"
You'll see your renewal date and what features you'll lose. Click "Deactivate" and confirm. You're done — no need to contact support.

Method 2: Cancel via Google account
Go to myaccount.google.com → Payments → Subscriptions.
Find "YouTube Premium" and click "Manage" → "Cancel subscription".
This is the same account that manages Google One, Google Play purchases, and other Google subscriptions.
Cancel on iOS (Apple billing)
Go to Settings → [Your name] → Subscriptions → YouTube Premium → Cancel Subscription.
Note: if you're cancelling iOS billing, you must do it through Apple — the YouTube website won't show this subscription.
GDPR route — if Google keeps charging you
Google Ireland Ltd is bound by GDPR. If you cancelled but continue to be charged, send a formal Art. 17 erasure request to their DPO. They must respond within 30 days.
