How to Cancel Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime auto-renews annually or monthly. You can cancel online in under 2 minutes and keep access until the end of your current billing period.
✓ What happens when you cancel
- → Access continues until the end of the billing period you already paid for
- → All Amazon purchases, order history, and photos (Prime Photos) are kept
- → Prime Video watchlist and downloads are removed at cancellation
- → If you cancel within 3 days of renewal and haven't used Prime benefits, Amazon may offer a prorated refund
Method 1: Cancel on Amazon.com (desktop)

Go to your Amazon Prime page
Sign in and go to Account & Lists → Prime Membership, or use the direct link below.

Click "Manage membership"
On the Prime membership page, click "Manage membership" on the right side.

Click "End Membership"
Amazon will show you what you'll lose. Click through the prompts until you see "End membership". Confirm to complete.

Cancel on mobile (Amazon app)
Open the Amazon app → tap the menu (≡) → Your Account → Prime Membership → Manage membership → End membership.
iOS: If you subscribed via Apple (in-app), cancel through iPhone Settings → Your name → Subscriptions → Amazon Prime.
Android: If subscribed via Google Play, cancel through Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Amazon Prime.
Request a refund
Amazon offers a refund if you cancel within 3 days of being charged for an annual plan AND haven't used any Prime benefits (streaming, free shipping, etc.) since the renewal date.
For partial-year refunds (e.g., you forgot to cancel months ago): contact Amazon customer service and request a prorated refund. Success varies — agents have discretion.

GDPR route — if Amazon keeps charging you
Amazon EU S.à.r.l. (Luxembourg) is bound by GDPR. If you cancelled but are still being charged, send a formal Art. 17 erasure request to their DPO. They must respond within 30 days.
