How to Cancel 1Password
1Password Individual ($2.99/month), Families ($4.99/month), and Teams plans all auto-renew. Cancelling ends billing at the current period end — but your vault data becomes read-only, then inaccessible. Export your passwords before cancelling.
⚠️ Export your vault BEFORE cancelling
After your subscription ends, your vault becomes read-only for a grace period, then locked. Export your data first: in the 1Password app go to File → Export → 1PUX or CSV format.

Export your vault first
Open the 1Password desktop app → File → Export → Choose "1PUX" (best format — keeps everything) → Save to a secure location.

Sign in to 1password.com → Profile → Billing
Go to 1password.com in a browser and sign in. Click your name or avatar (top right) → "Billing".

Click "Cancel Plan" → Confirm
On the Billing page, click "Cancel Plan" at the bottom. Follow the confirmation steps. Your account stays active until the current billing period ends.

💡 Subscribed via App Store or Google Play?
If you subscribed through Apple or Google, cancel through those stores: iPhone → Settings → [Your name] → Subscriptions → 1Password → Cancel. Android → Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → 1Password → Cancel.
Refund policy
1Password offers refunds within 30 days if you haven't heavily used the service. Contact 1Password Support. Annual plans may receive a pro-rated refund for unused months.
GDPR route — if 1Password keeps charging you
1Password (AgileBits) processes EU user data and is bound by GDPR. If you cancelled but continue to be billed, send a formal Art. 17 erasure request.
