How to Cancel McAfee Antivirus
McAfee Total Protection and LiveSafe auto-renew every year — often at a higher price than the introductory offer. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time through your McAfee account and keep protection until your current period ends.

McAfee typically charges 30 days before the renewal date. If you were charged in the last 30 days, you may be eligible for a refund — see the refund section below.

Sign in to my.mcafee.com
Go to my.mcafee.com and log in with the email address linked to your McAfee subscription.

Click My Account → My Subscriptions
In the top-right menu, click "My Account", then select "My Subscriptions" from the dropdown.

Find your plan → Turn off Auto-Renewal
Locate your active subscription and click "Turn off Auto-Renewal" next to it.

Confirm
Click through any retention screens and confirm the cancellation of auto-renewal. You keep McAfee protection until the end of the billing period.

Refund policy
McAfee offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on most annual subscriptions. If you were auto-renewed recently, contact McAfee support at 1-866-622-3911 or via live chat on mcafee.com and request a refund citing the 30-day guarantee. EU users can also claim under consumer protection law.

If you bought McAfee through a third party (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.), you may need to cancel through that platform. Check your original purchase confirmation email for the seller.
GDPR route — if McAfee keeps charging you
McAfee (Gen Digital) processes EU user data and is bound by GDPR. If you cancelled but continue to be charged, send a formal Art. 17 erasure request.
