How EU261 works — 4 steps

1

Check eligibility

Flight delayed 3+ hours, cancelled under 14 days notice, or denied boarding. Departing from EU or arriving on EU carrier.

2

File with the airline

Submit a formal EU261 claim via the airline's online portal. Keep records of everything.

3

Escalate if denied

Go to your national aviation authority (DGAC, CAA, Luftfahrt-Bundesamt) or use an arbitration service.

4

Or use a claims service

AirHelp handles everything — no win, no fee. They charge ~25% of compensation only on success.
